Environmental Benefits

The solar-powered electricity generated by the Sunfish Solar 2 project will offset generation from conventional emission producing sources, contributing to improved air quality and combatting climate change.

  • Capable of safely supplying enough renewable electricity per year to power over 69,000 Michigan households, more than enough energy to power the entire county.
  • Energy from Sunfish Solar 2 is projected to offset nearly 429,167 metric tons of CO2 emissions per year – that is equivalent to taking over 100,106 average cars off the road.
  • The project will diversify the energy mix of the region and enhance the reliability and resilience of the power grid serving Calhoun County.
